The unveiling!

I said if you promised not to laugh I will show you my first painting that I completed last night.

Here it is:

I got my inspiration for this one from one of my favourite artists - Cindy Thornton. I just love her curly trees!

I found a special place for it in my dining room

Next up is something totally different. I have so much to learn and I only have a class every second week. It may be a while before I'm able to post a picture of the next one.

I took a day's leave from work to spend with the kids while they're still on holiday.
Michael and I went to see this movie:
All I can say is : "!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Go see it - it's intriguing!

Marco and his friend went to see Night at the Museum 2

Leon is still in Namibia. He MMS'd these pics to me:

Now my lonely heart is really, really sad! I miss him so much!

The kids are going to stay with their dad from tonight until Sunday. It will be a long, lonely weekend for me. Only medicine I can think of to cure the loneliness is scrapping!

I got the June kit from Scarlet Lime in the post today. Lots of yummy goodies in bright colours to cheer me up!

But just for tonight I want to feel sorry for myself - I'm going to watch this movie all by myself - and cry as much as I want to. Richard Gere just seems to get more attractive the older he gets!

I love watching romantic drama's but Leon and the kids never wants to watch it with me and they make fun of me when I cry. So - this is my chance - I can watch as many tear jerkers as I want this weekend! Any recommendations?

Spud

I'm busy reading this book:

I read the first book towards the end of last year and I enjoyed it so much! It's about the antics of a grade 8 boy in boarding school. The theme was so apt because we were in the process of preparing for Michael to go to grade 8 and boarding school at that stage.

The second book is about his grade 9 year. The title "the madness continues" really describes the book as well as Spud's wacko family and friends to the tee. It's such and easy going and entertaining book. I love to lie in bed each night before I go to sleep and read a couple of pages. It's one of those books that you don't really want to finish.

Luckily John De Ruit recently released his 3rd Spud book. This one is lined up for me to read next!

Best of all!! The news is out - they're going to make a Spud movie! Can't wait for that!

Testing testing 1 - 2 - 3

I'm trying out the e-mail posting function on blogger.  If it works it may make my life a lot easier and I might just be able to blog more often!

Holding thumbs here!

Just for the fun I want to throw in a picture too.  Just a random picture from my "pretty pictures" folder.

Scarlet Lime Layouts

I made these two layouts using my Scarlet Lime May kit. I love the bright colours!

Now I'm going to eat a tasty plate of hot supper and snuggle up with the kids under a blankie in front of the TV!
I feel so blessed and my heart ache when I think of the homeless who have to be outside in the cold tyonight! I pray that God will protect them and that He will also lead my path to cross those who I can help in whatever way needed.
Hope you all had a blessed weekend too! :)
Hugs
Michelle

Saturday update

I'm a grass widow for the next 2 weeks! Leon is away on a fishing / hunting trip in Namibia. I miss him already - don't know how I will last for 2 weeks without him! The only consolation is that I know he's enjoying himself. He has such a special love for that country!

My mother is visiting me for the weekend. My sister and her daughter (as well as little girl peanut in her tummy) came to visit for the day as well. We had so much fun together! I tried to take a group photo of us all with my camera on the tri-pod, using the remote. The remote cable is a bit short so I had to lean forward to click and I just couldn't manage to get a decent shot where all out faces were "in the picture". We laughed so much! This is probably the best shot of them all:

I also took a couple of "bump" pics of Annalize and her cute 17 week tummy. I guess it's supposed to be serious and "serene" but we just couldn't stop laughing!

I got a couple of nice shots of Annalize though. Isn't she absolutely beautiful? She has always been a pretty girl but I really think that she became even more beautiful since she became pregnant!
I love this girl so much! Did I mention that she's my godchild?
We all can't wait for our little baby girl to arrive! Look at these adorable little shoes that my sister bought for her first grandchild!

After Martie and Annalize left the boys almost gave me heart failure. They were playing outside and called me to come out. When I got outside - this is where I found them:

Marco was a little lower - but still much higher than the 6 foot wall! Just look how high up Michael was! Marco got a little scared and I had to use the ladder to help him get down. They promised to never ever do that again!
What a great day! Tonight I just want to chill and tomorrow I plan to scrap up a storm!
